Special Snowflakes
One lesson I love to do with Kindergarten/1st grade during the holidays is a lesson on diversity. We discuss how no two snowflakes are the same. I bring coffee filters and I demonstrate how to fold and cut out a snowflake from the coffee filter. We all hold up our snowflakes and notice how they are all different. We then connect this concept to real life. How no two Kindergartners are the same. The topic of twins always comes up which is fun to talk about. I share my personal experience of being a twin and some of the differences between us.
What lessons do you like to do during the holidays?
